Beauty

Beauty

Beauty

When you gently lift your hand to wipe a bottom or a tear,
You are beauty.

When capturing sunsets for his glory in framed lens,
You are beauty.

When with a brush you paint a stroke on canvas or stroke gray hairs with a brush,
You are beauty.

When singing with voices of angels or making a joyful noise,
You are beauty.

When you smile and extend grace,
You are beauty.

When whispering prayers or shouting praise,
You are beauty.

When broken and humbled or with authority you speak,
You are beauty.

When quiet you sit treasuring promises or in pain believing with hope,
You are beauty.

When you plant seeds in tilled  gardens or softened hearts,
You are beauty.

When you patiently wait upon a child or the Lord,
You are beauty.

When slightly disheveled and nursing a baby or barren and nursing another,
You are beauty

When crying out in prayer for the least of these or those you love,
You are beauty.

When you extend mercy and kindness,

You are beauty.

When with heart full you feed the thousands or just the few around you,
You are beauty.

When you walk in faith that you are his
You are beauty

We are beauty in the flesh when we reflect the one who is beauty.

walk

walk

To go “where everyone knows your name”
Except that they do not know your shame.
They know what they can see,
What you present so prettily.
Ah but to walk naked in front of peers
To be uncovered and open to sneers.
The pain and turmoil,
For all to see the soil.
The blessing…
We can access covering from on high,
To claim the rights from him who does not deny.
To walk a walk that is righteously covered,
No longer unduly ridicule to suffer.
To clothe oneself in dignity
Because of a sacrifice that does decree,
“You are mine” and in my name alone
You have full access to the throne.

Count it all as loss

To My dear sweet friend:

Looking back at what once was,
Dreaming of what should have been.
Taken away, the loss surreal.

Not to be traded the sweetness of His love revealed.

But still the pain persists
The looking behind to see what’s gone
But today you say forward is the way to heal.

Releasing, letting go,
The treasures of the past still yet to be enjoyed.
The gift of this love let Him show.

To fill you with the memories of joy
The laughter, the tender moments to explore.

Count it all as loss, the gain none to compare.
His unfailing love for you he wants to share,
To fill you where you feel bereft,
To overflow you with the knowledge that he has never left.

“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”. Philippians 3:8

But I can pray for you

I do not always take the time to listen well,
But I can whisper prayers in my heart for you.

I don’t have all the answers to help you,
But I can call out declaring truth for you.

I may not always understand all you are going through,
But I can gather with a few and intercede for you.

I cannot save you,
But I can guide you to the one who can.

My journey does not look like yours,
But I can come along side and pray with you.

We cannot change the world on our own,
But we can cry out to the Lord together.

Tales of slumber and the call to awaken

Tales of slumber and the call to awaken

Romans 13:11

11 Besides this you know the time that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.”

Sleeping beauty, peacefully resting unaware of the darkness and evil around her.
Laying ever so comfortably and yet barely alive. Our churches and our hearts often suffer the same.

We are comfortably lying about in a slumber, cast into a spell that says sleep on in our dreamless places.

But out beyond the castle walls a battle goes on. Poor prince Phillip is hacking away at the ever growing vines and thorns sent to choke out the very life around it.

And beyond the walls of our churches we can see the evidence of these entangling snares and thistles.

And yet all sleep on inside the castle unable to rise up for they too have allowed the spell to overtake them.

The call is here to arise and awaken. Our churches and people need to shake off the dust of slumber and join the battle.

Call on our own beloved King and come alive. All around a stirring is going on.

The spell is being broken bit by bit and as we ourselves come awake we too must help and cut away at the vines that are binding our brethren.

Ephesians 5:141

“ For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

My Key women

My Key women

Women Gathering,
Linking arms in prayer.
Acts of love to show they care,
Hands wiping tears,
Hugs chasing fears.
Speaking words of hope,
Offering life to those who cannot cope.
Being vulnerable uncovering our stuff,
Words of encouragement “God says you are enough”.
Rising forth in our messy space,
Enabled to extend more of God’s grace.
Women real and in the flesh,
When gathered able to refresh.
An open circle for all,
Reaching arms to catch those who fall.
Not a cloister to be closed,
Just a loving place to expose.
No pointing out of sin,
But uncovering the spirit within.
United by faith in one
The father, the spirit and the son.

Newness

Newness

Little babies barely aware,
Each breath and moment filled with new.
Christmas morning excitement in the air,
Anticipation of surprises to be dived into.
The New Year rolling in
Hopes that something different will begin.
Tomorrow another day
Promises

 Puppies mewling unaware,
Exploring fresh territory to chew.
The awakening Christian come to prayer;
Repentant of life in review,
Releasing all to savior no need to despair.
Looking with eyes in a new hue,
With Jesus, non to compare,
His Mercy’s dawn each day into view.
