Turn

Turn

There within desirous reach, is coveted prize,
Temptation says it is yours to try.
But Holy one whispers, stop and turn.
Turn in an about face
Turn and lean into grace.

Hard words trickle from heart to lips,
Pouring forth in self acclaimed righteousness.
Softly listen to voice with in
Stop and turn, repent of sin.

Envy and pride take up space,
Shredding hearts in distaste.
Spirit alive and counseling
Turn now and stop from pouncing.

Control and anxiety have its day,
Lack of surrender keeping you this way
Look to truth, Press in and see
Turning back can set you free.

Turn, change course, repent
 Reverse, change direction, relent.
Turn towards He who is heaven sent.

Breathe

Breathe

Our origins God did breathe,
But doubts crept in to deceive.
Existing yet no respiration
Breathing shallow, hope lost in desperation.
Jesus reconciling on the cross by death,
In resurrection given new breath.
Ours a gift in receiving,
The only work to be believing.
Daily breathing in spirit filled oxygen,
Regenerating every fiber of our being.
Breathe in and let holy words prevail,
Breathe out, releasing lies in the exhale.
The trinity breathing in rhythmic beauty,
Believing hearts to be in sync and unity.
Believing, receiving, and breathing
Giving our earthly lives new meaning.

Step Out

The hand cuffs are unlocked
The jail cells door is unblocked
Step out people, step out.
The stone has been rolled away
No need to linger or to stay
Step out church, step out.
In your self-confinement, freedom withering
 His light only dimly flickering
Step out believers, step out.
Come out like Lazarus did
Step out and begin to really live

With the very breath of life

No longer captives,
Throw off the enemies tactics,
Step out in loving assurance.
The debts been paid,
No longer burdened to live like slaves.
Step out with your God given Keys,
Step out and set the others free.
Jesus no longer on the cross,
Our liberty He did not count the cost.
Step out so the blood shed is not wasted,
In Freedom help others to taste it.
Our Lights to shine bright,
Bringing the hope of God into the night.
Step out...

Cover

Covering

To cover, make reconciliation,
  Atonement in Hebrew “Kaphar “.
from the fall and first temptation,
God providing from bloodshed a cover
To Adam and Eve, a dispensation.
Releasing from shame although deserving damnation.
Despite Ham’s intent to shame.
Shem and Japheth in covering remove all degradation.
Ruth open and vulnerable to Boaz came
He, her covering in noble proclamation.
The Father to prodigal son
Extending a garment of exoneration,
No judgement just a blessing of love.

Christ covering in salvation
Christian’s gladly donning white robes without consideration
Of the forgiveness given with no reservation.
We too to give in demonstration
The love and covering to our generation
No need to point out faults or in defamation
But in underserved righteous cloak
Point to truth in anticipation
Of the work of Christ in regeneration.

Hastening the day

Hastening the day

Worldly mire and muck surround,
Darkness, hopelessness, oppression abound.
Our Inadequacies in all shapes and forms
Delaying what our hearts are yearning for.
God’s returning bringing heaven on earth.
The timing  all about His created beings worth.
We who “gnosco” him desire to hasten the day
And yet the slowness in coming is His love on display.
Planned for ions ago before the fall,
Preciously poured out in offering for all,
The reconciliatory gift of blood.
Ours then the honor to loose this life gift and let flow and flood,

Seeping into the darkest spaces,
Carrying the tide of hope to the remotest places,
We who wish for the Lords returning time,
We must in truth and in his righteousness march behind
Walking and growing in grace and holiness
Looking to the day when all knee’s bow and tongues confess.

2 Peter 3:9-12“ The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies[b]will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.[c]
11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
